Adreno 530，作为Adreno 430的继任者，高通当时表示其性能得到了大幅改进，并且功耗更低。具体而言，Adreno 530 GPU的比Adreno 430性能提升达40%，同时还能降低40%的功耗。
那么究竟强到什么程度呢？在早期未进行软硬件优化的Snapdragon 820开发者样机测试中，Adreno 530性能要比A9的PowerVR  GT7600性能高出大约10%。特别是在GFXBench 3.0曼哈顿离屏测试中，Adreno 530可以跑出45.2FPS的帧率，相比之下iPhone6s的成绩是39FPS，高通领先多达16%。
考虑到采用Snapdragon 820有一大波旗舰智能手机，Adreno 530也将会在这些机型上大放异彩。包括LG G5和HTC One M10等等，但是三星的Galaxy S7似乎更有可能成为最早炫耀的旗舰手机，因为目前其相关测试已经在网络上曝光了。
日期，在一组有关三星Galaxy S7跑GFXBench测试的成绩截图悄然出现。结果显示，涉及到图形处理性能方面，Galaxy S7凭借Adreno 530 GPU几乎摧毁了一切竞争对手，包括苹果的iPhone 6s也甘拜下风。而唯一能够不让Galaxy S7那么骄傲的产品，就是搭载了老黄Maxwell架构“核弹级”GPU的谷歌Pixel C平板电脑。

从截图可以看到，在GFXBench 3.0曼哈顿场景的offscreen测试中，Galaxy S7与Pixel C打个平手，苹果落后了9fps左右，并且几乎是去年三星的旗舰Galaxy note 5的两倍，号称国产最强机的Mate 8差距甚远。而在GFXBench 3.1新版同样的场景测试中，  Galaxy S7也仅落后了Pixel C平板4fps的帧率，有意思的是，Adreno 530的成绩比Adreno 430高出了80%，比高通官方公布的40%高出了一倍，也许是华为的6P没有优化到位？

完全是Adreno 530的功劳
说实话，高通对Adreno 530下了很大的功夫，当初其高管称，他们在硬件层面上做了很多创新，用户将明显感受到更快、响应更灵敏的图形处理速度，特别是在高分辨率的显示屏上，就算是浏览网页或观看视频也有明显实际体验的提升。
与此同时，Adreno 530得益于全新的显示引擎，不仅支持将播放的4K@60fps视频通过HDMI 2.0接口完整输出到电视机上，而且还直接以流媒体的形式无线传输4K@30fps内容。至于一些前瞻性的应用，比如VR虚拟现实也考虑在内，还能够支持三摄像头，并支持每秒以30 fps的帧数无延迟抓拍2500万像素的图像。

当然了，Adreno 530集成的新ISP图像信号处理器Qualcomm Spectra也是亮点，因为该ISP不仅改善了数据处理和成像速度，而且噪点控制进一步升级。高通称，实现手机拍摄的图像或录制的视频无任何残影或噪点，成像效果上可以看到更自然的肤色和色调，以及更广的范围光照水平。
比较遗憾的是，传闻中Galaxy S7搭载自家Exynos 8890处理器的GPU性能还未有相关测试出炉。之前报道称，Exynos 8890搭载了ARM的Mali-T880 GPU MP12，究竟它的性能与Adreno 530差多少备受关注，毕竟Galaxy S7的国际版本搭载的是Exynos 8890处理器，而非Snapdragon 820。
