The G-Class is, like the Land Rover Defender, another bygone era 4x4, designed back when SUVs were specifically built for going off-road. Built like a tank - but on-road it's a different story.

The same price as a Q5 with pretty much all of the ability. Foot. Shoot. In. The.
Q3 5/10
It might look car-like, but it’s not car-like enough to drive. It’s competent, but doesn’t shine.
5 Series GT 3/10
A car in search of an identity. If it keeps you out of the thuggish and poor-riding X5 or X6, then by all means go for it. But why not a 5-series Touring?
X6 4/10
Looks, frankly, terrible. The ultimate two-fingers to all other road users that takes up road space while not making the best use of it; coupe body over X5-sized chassis. It does however, drive like precisely nothing else on the road.
CT 200h 4/10
To call this a posh Prius may sound a little harsh, but that’s what it is.

A good, fun and interesting alternative to the 3-Series. But let's get realistic. Why would you buy a V6 petrol-engined saloon when the just-as-much fun but far more economical BMW 330d exists? One for the individualist.
