At the end of the night, a special tournament was held for a game that essentially kicked off the competitive fighting game community as we know it today. Tournaments were held across the world for SSF2T, resulting in one of the more memorable events when the best players from the US at the time including Alex Valle and Seth Killian traveled to Japan to face off against their best players, which included the likes of young Daigo Umehara. Below are the results for the best of five matches.

For those who didnt make it up in time (GMT) or stay awake to watch the Top 8 stream at EVO2012 then you missed a truly great display of SuperTurbo playing. A mix of old school players and even some new players founded in the HDR release, even daigo was noted to be smiling when playing which shows how much people enjoy playing the game for fun. After all the dust the eventual winner was MAO coming through the losers bracket and beat Kusumondo twice, which is no easy task!!

1st: Mao (Claw)
2nd: Kusumondo (E.Honda)
3rd: AfroLegends (Deejay/Boxer)
