Nintendo: Wii U Sales Increase 685% in th UK due to Wind Waker HD

Nintendo has told MCVUK that sales for the Wii U in the UK has increased 685 percent for the week ending October 5. The increase in sales is due to the release of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, as well as a price cut.

This is a good sign for the console which has struggled all year. The Wii U sold just 1,268 units the week before Wind Waker HD, according to VGChartz. That would put last weeks sale at 8,685 units.

Nintendo has several games that will be released later this year that will help keep sales up. Super Mario 3D World, Sonic Lost World, Wii Fit U, and Wii Party U.
