Xbox 360 hardware shipments were 1.2 million for the quarter, a slight drop from 1.3 million in the same quarter last year. The operating result for the entertainment division was a loss of $130 million on revenue of $1.19 billion, compared to a loss of $171 million on revenue of $1.59 billion in Q4 2008. Microsoft has shipped 31.4m Xbox 360s worldwide through the end of June 2009. Slide 16 of this document indicates that Xbox 360 has a life time attach rate of 8.6 games per system - presumably shipped software divided by shipped hardware. Microsoft shipped 11.1m Xbox 360s in the fiscal year ending June 2009, up from the 8.7m Xbox 360s shipped in the year ending June 2008.

For Microsoft as a whole, revenue dropped 17% to $13.1 billion, and operating profit dropped 30% to $4 billion year-on-year.
