EA’s next year software spread
EA execs said the company plans to release some 55 games, including 30 for PS3 and Xbox 360, over 20 for the Wii, 18 for the DS, eight for the PSP, 30 for the PC, and 15 for the PS2.

EA: Game Sales in Calendar '08 to Grow 15-20% on Strong Wii, DS
On its earnings conference call following the release of FY:08 results, Electronic Arts provided its own forecast for industry growth in the West. Chief Financial Officer Eric Brown said that EA is anticipating software sales growth between 15 and 20 percent for North America and Europe combined during this calendar year.

"This increase relative to our prior statement is primarily driven by our higher hardware expectations for the Wii and NDS," he explained. Brown did not, however, go on to give more specific Wii and DS hardware numbers.

Brown noted that EA is also expecting the mobile games market to accelerate in 2008. The publisher is now forecasting global industry growth of more than 15 percent for the mobile sector.
