Here is the solution for your headache. On the console (put -console on the shortcut property to enable it) type the following commands
SV_CHEATS 1
DEFAULT_FOV 90
FOV 90
This will set the FOV to 90. You can try any number larger than 75. Default SOURCE engine FOV is 75. By adjusting FOV to 90 to 100 should make you feel better
