The four best runners-up across all groups will advance to the third round and Asian Cup. The remaining four runners-up will advance to the Asian Cup qualifying third round. Should Qatar win this group or be among the four best runners-up, they will advance to the Asian Cup qualifying third round only and the fifth best runners-up will take Qatar's place in the third round, also advancing to the Asian Cup.
