Buckle up! Here is our PSA on Nikkei's report. Despite other translations of this article, we don't believe it references any hardware being delayed. The term 控える might be throwing people off, which can mean different things based on context.

Some may view that word as "delayed" or "postponed" because you can use it to say you're abstaining from something (i.e. alcohol). However, it also means something "is in preparation" or "coming up in the near future".

We also use a general reference to a new Nintendo console in our report rather than something specifically Switch-related like a Switch Pro. 現行機をフルモデルチェンジした次世代機の開発が控える was the source wording - 次世代機 next generation console

It's anybody's guess if Nikkei's report is accurate in the first place, but just wanted to point this out as we're not in agreement with other translations out there!
