Passat (North American and Chinese markets) (2011-present)

A new Passat will replace the B6 Passat for the 2012 model year in the North American market and will also be sold in the Chinese market. North American versions will be built at its Chattanooga, Tennessee plant, and it will also be built in China by Shanghai-VW in 2011. Known as the New Midsize Sedan (NMS) before its official launch in January 2011, this vehicle was developed separately from the contemporary European-market B7 Passat and is designed specifically for North America.
