Though it may seem like an incredibly long prediction seeing as consumers and developers alike have long been lamenting the eight year length of the current generation, with Ubisoft recently explaining it wants this generation to last five years, it's actually not that surprising. Microsoft recently announced it plans to support the Xbox 360 until at least 2016, which means it'll have been around for an impressive 11 years at that stage.
