Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America president, recently compared the Nintendo Wii U longetivity to that of the PS2 and Wii.

Fils-Aime explained why the company chose to skip the major press presentation this year and opt for a more hands-on experience, putting it simply: "we wanted to minimise the time between 'good morning' and 'play the game' to help the broad media understand what content means".



As for the impending launches of the Xbox One and PS4, he likens the Wii U to the original Nintendo Wii, where despite being powered, it still lead the market. Likewise, with the PlayStation 2, it was underpowered yet dominated during its generation.
