美国任天堂首席执行人员岩田聪今日正式公布了任天堂将取消今年E3上的发布会，官方将独自举办小规模的宣传活动以取代该发布会。
　　岩田聪解释说，“该决定是考虑到公司今后的战略变化，以前我们总是提前预告发布会，邀请各方面人士宣传大量情报，因此很多人都期待我们例行的展出，但现在我们注意到不同玩家对资讯的需求不一样，所以我们决定采取全新的宣传方案。”

　　不过岩田聪也表示这不代表任天堂会从此彻底离开E3，“在今年的E3展上我们并没有新主机要推出，但我们也会有一些内容，比如关于WiiU，我们今后会考虑举办更适合我们玩家的活动，把他们需要的内容传达给他们，包括日本及海外的玩家。”

索尼本届E3发布会时间确认：北京时间6月11日早上9点

另外更新下，本届微软E3发布会举办时间为北京时间6月11日00:30，而不是之前的6月10日23:45，23:45为入场时间
