PlayStation Vita sales have been well below its main rival the 3DS, but sales have quadrupled in Japan since the price was cut. The announcement comes from Sony Computer Entertainment Japan president Hiroshi Kawano and translated by Gemutsu.
Sony cut the price of both the 3G and WiFi models in Japan to 19,980 Yen on February 28. The PlayStation Vita had sold just under 12,000 units the week before the price cut according to VGChartz. That would put sales at over 40,000 units the week of the price cut.
