I have big doubts about the reliability of this source.
With that said, Nintendo buying Sega makes a ton of sense, and is something I've wanted to see happen for years. As mentioned Sega has dozens of great IP's, and many of their games are a perfect fit for Nintendo systems as we've seen in the past. Nintendo and Sega are both known for unique games with big personality, they'd be a good match. Also, Nintendo is looking to cater to more hardcore gamers as well, and Sega's IP's would definitely help a lot in the matter. Keeping the Sega name (and publishing all the mature content under that label) would also eliminate the problem I've been sensing of Nintendo balancing between staying family-friendly and at the same time looking to have/publish more mature content on their systems. Sega also has a tremendous backlog of classic games, which would be a perfect match for Nintendo Virtual Console now that they're reinventing the whole system, and would be a big selling point if they were exclusive to Nintendo. I'm not at all sure Nintendo needs Sammy though, so if they can acquire Sega without Sammy I say get the deal done! It only makes sense for everyone.
