Kal El to blame
In the next few days, Kindle Fire will be in a lot of geek conversations as this 7-inch, dual-core tablet, priced at just $199, is a device that many might find desirable.
The price is definitely playing a huge role in this buying decision as Kindle Fire only has tweaked version of Android 2.3 under the hood. In the big boy league, we hear that Asus Transformer 2 powered by Nvidia’s 40nm quad + 1 core Kal-El will get significantly better battery life than Transformer 1 and Tegra 2 chip.
The key in power preservation is the fifth core that will run all non demanding tasks alone while the other one to four cores will help out the more demanding tasks. We don’t have exact figures for you, but our sources that have spent time with this new tablet are confirming its going to be much better than the first generation.
You should be able to see the difference in everyday tablet tasks when you compare Tegra 2 and Kal El tablets. October should be the month when it comes out.
