Above: Thanks for taking this picture, random dude in a cherry picker!
SUNDAY Above: The show floor was still under construction, and we immediately got to work taking pictures of things we weren't supposed to. Above: We also found out what Sony was going to change (everything). Above: Even our hotel room keys had games on them... E3 was everywhere. Above: That night, a few GR staffers got all lazy and relaxed at a dumb Kinect event while the rest of the team stayed at the hotel to work. Editors Chris Antista and Mikel Reparaz are getting shit done! Above: And here they are at that Kinect event - look at how much fun they're having. Above: Meanwhile, the rest of the team was still working (really hard). Above: Executive Editor Brett Elston finally left the event and showed up, but we had a hard time spotting him. Above: A post-drinking meal. Who knew that Denny's was so funny/cuddly? Brett Elston and Tyler Nagata did. Above: And then Brett's head exploded when he saw E3 on the door.
MONDAY Above: The show floor still wasn't ready, but Microsoft kicked off the press conferences with this. Above: They also installed and hand painted this killtacular display in the convention center lobby. Above: Chris Antista posed in our publisher's booth... Above: And Brett Elston ran into our old friend and former GamesRadar, OXM, and Official WoW Magazine editor Dan Amrich! Above: Meanwhile, Features/Community Editor Tyler Wilde tried to crash the red carpet at Activision's party. They weren't having it.
TUESDAY Above: At their too-damn-early press conference, Nintendo stole the show. Above: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword was there for the playing! Above: And so were 3DS demos, though they were tethered to blondes. Above: Meanwhile, at the convention center, the show was almost ready to open up. Above: And then it did. FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU... Above: Sony finally got around to changing everything (hah). Above: Brett and Capcom's Seth Killian smiled and laughed into a microphone for a while. Above: And the week's first TalkRadar E3 special was recorded with OXM's Ryan McCaffrey! Above: Back at the hotel, we ran into GR and Qore's Lizzie "Lizard" Cuevas and Veronica "Taco" Belmont. Above: And after a hard day, we went to Bethesda's always-outstanding party and drank... Above: And drank... Above: And drank... Above: And drunk. Above: The guy in the middle is Senior Editor Joe McNeilly. That is all we know.
WEDNESDAY Above: Chris Antista decided to spend the day making new friends. First up, zombie Kelly Bundy! Above: This interview didn't get very far. Above: We don't even know who this character is. Above: Friends are easy to find on the E3 show floor... Above: Especially at your own company's booth. Above: After the show, Tyler Wilde went off in search of a liquor store. Little did he know, Senior Editor Charlie Barratt was in the cab you can see driving away from him. Coincidence! Above: As you can see, Tyler successfully procured alcohol. Podcasting ensued.
THURSDAY Above: We found the absolute best thing at the show, but it can only be experienced properly in video. Above: The Tron booth was awesome. None of us played the game, though. Above: We discovered that Final Fantasy XIV is as fun as stairs. Above: Charlie Barratt entered the Microsoft spaceship! Above: Before we left, we caught Master Chief with his helmet off! Exclusive! Above: This is what you'll look like playing Move games. Is this what you want? Above: Wait... is that? Why yes, it is Steven Seagal looking disgruntled! See the video! Above: And that was it. With a little extra time at the airport, we decided to have a beer or ten. See you next year, E3.
