Reckons Microsoft should do an Apple and let people make apps for it.
Project Natal is "wasted on games", one of the creators of Fallout 3 has said.
Microsoft should do what Apple has done with the iPhone and iPad and "open up Natal" so that anyone can make a Natal app, Bethesda production director Ashley Cheng said in a blog post.
Natal, an Xbox 360 add-on that will allow gamers to play games without the use of a controller, will be released in October, according to a marketing manager at Microsoft's Saudi Arabia division.
Microsoft has shown only a few Natal-enabled games to press since the technology's reveal at E3 last year.
A full reveal is expected during Microsoft's Natal-focused press conference at E3 next month.
Cheng is one of a number of game developers left buzzing by Natal.
"Seeing it in action, I was totally blown away by it," he said.
"It seems wasted on games, really. Microsoft should open the NATAL API up like Apple does with the iphone/ipad. Let anyone make a NATAL "app." I bet someone makes a killer app that has nothing to do with gaming."
