Sony’s PlayStation 3 console has passed the two million sales mark in its native Japan, as the company enjoys yet another week of strong sales in the territory.
Data obtained by Media Create shows that the flagship console sold 11,303 units for the week ended April 6, passing the two million mark a few days later.
The PlayStation 2 appeared to be catching up with its successor, selling a respectable 10,423 units, maintaining its lead over the Xbox 360, which sold 1,452 units of hardware.
Meanwhile, the success of Sony’s PlayStation Portable continued on the strength of Monster Hunter 2G’s release in the region, with the handheld console selling just fewer than 121,000 units, taking the top spot in the process.
