When we heard about the almost outrageous claim made in an upcoming GamePro article, we went to the source of all things Epic to get some answers. Finally, Mark Rein responds.
I have not seen the actual GamePro article but if they're going to make predictions about us selling Epic we would prefer if they started at $2 billion because we don't want anyone thinking that we're cheap.
Not exactly the glowing rejection we were hoping for, but I do think it speaks for itself considering the GamePro article made the magic number of $1 billion dollars seem like it was already a done deal. I think it's probably safe to say we won't be hearing about an Epic buyout any time in the near future.
update (hal here) I've seen the magazine in question now that it's on the news stands and the "article" is part of a GamePro Predictions sidebar that makes it fairly clear that it's a speculative piece.
