1. 970的L2 Cache和MC内存控制器与Crossbar之间的端口只有7个, 要比980少一个, L2 Cache并非2MB, 而是1792KB. 由于32位MC内存控制器部分依然存在, 所以位宽仍和980一样. 同样ROPs也并非之前认为的64个, 而是56个(原图误写为52个, 已更新为56). 坛子里前两天貌似已经有人发现了同样的情况, 两张图来说明.



2. 0.5G部分的速度只有前3.5G的1/7.
感谢21楼Flanker即时翻译:Crossbar到MC内存控制器的第7个接口(被阉掉一组L2那里), 如果按传统流程走会收到两倍于前面6个接口的请求, 导致前面6个接口实际工作只有半速. 于是相比于3G半速+1G全速, NV选择了3.5G全速+0.5G 1/7速的设置.

3. 尽管有速度差, 但慢速块的速度仍然比PCI-E和系统内存之间的存取速度快4倍以上, NV希望操作系统执行的优先次序是3.5G>0.5G>系统内存(如必要). 我们通常使用的启发式操作系统会将不常用和对延迟性不敏感的数据放入慢速块, 并有效进行平衡, 所以才会在实际游戏中看不到如此大的速度差异. NV称如果970没分快慢区, 在高显存使用的情形下会比目前的分区快4-6%, 但这需要更多的测试来证明.

Nvidia sold all of us 4GB gtx 970 at 224GB/S speed, while clearly it is not
its actually 3.5GB at 224GB/S and 0.5GB which is only 1/8th as fast.
They clearly lied to our face, they could simply write up 3.5GB gtx 970 and 500MB cache at first before selling.
We want either advertised gtx 970 or give us a refund

看来老外的反映还是比较强烈：

NVIDIA says this was an error in the reviewer’s guide and a misunderstanding between the engineering team and the technical PR team on how the architecture itself functioned.

Are you telling me your (nVIDIA's) team of engineers didn't noticed before, not even once in the 4 months the card is out, the PR falsely advertised the GTX 970 in the press? I call it BS

Refund the unhappy costumers NOW!

well i live in 3rd world country like Pakistan, and the card just arrived and its hard to return to US back because its going to cost me about 50$ to send back the card.. and I am developing and designing games and i hardly managed to get this card.. i used 410$ for it to arrive i mean its really high amount for me to spend on a card and after i get it i see nvidia telling real deal with the card.

I never thought big corporation like nvidia would cheat this low

why they do that?? man ive bought GTX 970 with 64 ROPS, but reality is diffrent, it has 52 ROPS, i should bought GTX980, because after 3.2 GB vram usage, games are stuttery mess. and now this GTX960 is a joke like GTX 970. im feeling deppresed



Is Nvidia seriously trying to hide a 110+ page thread of disgrunted 970 users?

I'm done with these crooks. I'm contacting the retailers now about refunds on my 2 970's on the grounds of false advertising. Looks like I'm AMD for life now.
