GDC '08: Gears of War 2 rolling to 360s in November

The fact that Epic Games is at work on a sequel to 2006's massive Xbox 360 hit Gears of War is one of the industry's worst-kept secrets. Aside from being a logical business move--Gears has sold 4.5 million copies globally across the Xbox 360 and PC to date--Epic has been less than opaque about its intentions, even as far back as last year's Game Developers Conference when lead designer Clifford Bleszinski (aka Cliffy B) said that his company "intends to do a sequel."

The question, then, has been when would Microsoft and Epic finally get around to making the announcement. True to rampant speculation, that reveal came today during Microsoft's keynote speech at the 2008 Game Developers Conference

After Epic founder Tim Sweeney and president Mike Capps left the stage with no mention of the shooter midway through Microsoft's presentation, the lights dimmed to close out the keynote...and a trailer for Gears of War 2 played. Cliffy B then stormed the stage, chainsaw rifle in hand, revealing the game would officially light up Microsoft's console exclusively this November.

No PC version of the game was mentioned, though Epic released an enhanced PC port of the sci-fi third-person shooter a year after its console counterpart.

Gears of War 2 Announced
Providing a dramatic close to Microsoft's 2008 Game Developers Conference keynote address, lead designer Cliff Bleszinski of Epic Games announced that the heroic saga of Marcus Fenix and Delta Squad will continue exclusively on Xbox 360 this fall withGears of War® 2.

This highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster Gears of War delves deeper into humanity's struggle for survival against the nightmarish Locust Horde, and takes the high-definition visuals to a whole new level.

"To our team the original game was just a tease, the appetizer to the Gears of War characters and new style of gameplay. We were so amped to get to the next chapter, and dig deeper into the universe of this franchise," said Bleszinski. "Gears of War 2 is an even bigger, better, and more badass experience than the first game, and we can't wait to get it in the hands of eager gamers this November."

Game Features
Gears of War 2continues the story of Marcus Fenix and Delta Squad, locked in an increasingly desperate battle against the nightmarish Locust Horde for the survival of humanity. Gears of War 2 is an larger-than-life saga of survival, loss, and retribution.

Gears of War 2is developed by Epic Games for Microsoft Game Studios and joins a growing list of must-have Xbox 360 exclusives. Look for Gears of War 2 when it storms onto retail shelves this November.

啊，昨天晚上还在蛋疼群里说这游戏呢

怎么这画面还是1代的水平？机能用尽了吗？根本不够看啊。

说点实话也不行？可能我玩到的比较晚吧。在众多大作面前，GOW1的画面的确只能算一般。现在看2代的图似乎一点也没有加强。到底是不是这样，走着瞧吧。另外，我对这游戏的打击表现也不满意。中枪后既没有后座力表现，也没有痛苦状，就是使劲地往敌人身上打，打到死为止。我觉得跟射击死人差不多。
