HITACHI：现有PS3将可支持100G蓝光光碟！

    尽管对于很多消费者来说次世代光碟格式的内容可能才是最重要的，但两大高清格式阵营的公司并没有停下在光碟容量上你追我赶的脚步。日立公司近日宣布，他们利用新技术制作的100G蓝光光碟，将是同样适用于现有的PS3游戏机和蓝光播放器的。这些之前的设备只要通过轻松的固件升级就可以播放100G的蓝光光碟。这种新容量的蓝光光碟将会使蓝光阵营牢牢的守住他们的大容量优势。之前HD-DVD阵营的东芝公司刚刚研制成功实现单面三层容量达51G的HD- DVD光碟。

  随着高清时代的逐渐到来，次世代碟片格式之争也日趋白热化。日立表示，目前公司正在致力于提高篮光光碟的单层信号质量。不久还将推出多达8层的蓝光技术，将最终可以实现生产容量达到惊人的200G容量的蓝光光碟。

Hitachi confirms 100 gig Blu-Ray disc compatibility with existing Blu Ray Players


This is just to dispel some confusion surrounding the compatibility of 100 gig Blu Ray discs on existing Blu Ray players including PS3. With a firmwire update all the existing Blu Ray players including ps3 could also be made to play the 100 gig Blu-ray discs.

Here is the official statement from Afterdawn:-

"To sweeten the pot even more, Hitachi says the discs are compatible with existing Blu-ray players and drives after an easy firmware update. "

The much anticipated 200 gig Blu-Ray disc is also on the way to make inroads against the competition . Afterdawn further reports :-

"Hitachi says they are now working on "improving the signal quality of its quad-layer technology" so that it can be ready to hit the market soon. The company also boasted that they were working on a eight-layer Blu-ray disc capable of storing 200GB of data. "

看看现在玩家手里的刻录盘有几张D9的？
2层就够等了，4-8层是你孙子才用的上的 :D
