Midway在刚刚发布的一份财报中宣布了对第三季度财务评估的修正，其中透露计划将PS3版《虚幻竞技场3》的发布推迟到2008年第一季度，至于PC版本则并未提及。

“需要修正的部分主要是决定将PS3版本《Stranglehold》发布日期由第三季度推迟到第四季度，估计PS3版本《Unreal Tournament 3》的发布将会推迟到2008财年的第一季度，并且由于受到Xbox 360和PS3销量差距的影响，调低了《BlackSite: Area 51》的销售预期。”

不过对此声明，Epic Games副总裁Mark Rein在《UT3》官方论坛中进行了说明：“作为上市公司，Midway有责任向股东们通报一切有可能的推迟情况，不过我们的目标仍是在2007年底之前发布PS3版《UT3》，只是一定要确保游戏达到了最佳品质之后才会发布。PC版本仍会按照计划在11月发布。”

“(PS3版本)目前仍有希望在12月发布。另外还有一个好消息就是，多出来的这些开发时间意味着PS3版本将会有和PC版完全相同的地图配置，而先前计划是要少一些的。”

As a public company, Midway felt an obligation to its shareholders to let them know about the possibility of a delay. Our goal is still to get the PS3 version of UT3 in stores before the end of 2007. However, we will only ship it once it’s ready and is the best game we can deliver.

In addition there is some good news as a little extra time in development means that now the PS3 version will have all of the same maps as the PC version whereas we previously expected to ship a fewer maps on console.

The PC version is still on track for November with a downloadable demo to be made available prior to retail release
