GPU compute is definitely the future. The CPU performance is better than last-gen but not by a huge margin, the GPU on the other hand is a really sizeable improvement. If the task is suited to it, moving to the GPU can be an incredible performance win. However, this is taking away performance from the traditional graphics pipeline so there is a limit to what you can move to the GPU.

PS4的GPU绝对是先进的架构。CPU的性能虽然比本世代好，但是进步的幅度并不算巨大，另一方面来说GPU则有显著的进步，如果某任务适合由这颗GPU来运算，将这个任务转移给GPU将会得到不可置信性能优势。
由于这是舍弃传统GPU渲染流程的方式，所以取决于你能将什么任务转移到GPU里。

As for the broader multi-platform question, supporting GPU compute isn't really much more difficult than supporting multi-platform rendering, so it's certainly something we'll be using more and more on all platforms.
