Alan Wake 2 already in the plans for Remedy

Alan Wake has been down a bumpy road since it was first announced in the summer of 2005.  That's given Remedy Entertainment a while to map out the story of Alan Wake before the game is even released in mid-May for the Xbox 360.  In an interview with Joystiq, Remedy's Oskari 'Ozz' Häkkinen brought up not only Alan Wake 2 but the DLC plans for the series too.

We definitely want to make Alan Wake 2. We have the story mapped out. We know where it's taking us. As I said, season one will be conclusive but there'll be doors left open for a bigger story and we want to have the opportunity to give the fans the view on what those open doors lead to. It's pretty intriguing.

Remedy is also planning on a series of DLC episodes to cover the time between Alan Wake 1 and Alan Wake 2.  Remedy has high hopes that Alan Wake 1 and the DLC will garner enough fans to justify a sequel because Remedy has "so much more to give to Alan Wake."  Until then, potential purchasers of Alan Wake can be confident in knowing that the story of Alan Wake continues long after they've finished the game.
