The beans were spilt by Play.com, where you can already place a pre-order on the game for £39.99.


After questioning the validity of the release date, Play told LivePlayStation: "Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding the release date of Max Payne 3. Please be advised that the release date for this item, currently scheduled for 30/10/09, has been given to us by the developers of the game."

It's pretty soon considering the game's barely been glimpsed. We've left a message with publisher Rockstar to double check.
